Description
We replaced the kitchen fronts in our chalet at a holiday park. (See photo 1 for the old situation) For the kitchen fronts, we had 18 mm birch plywood cut to size.
Replacing Kitchen Fronts
First, we measured the old fronts. We increased the width of the fronts by a few millimeters. The upper cabinets were extended to the ceiling to create a sleek appearance. Based on the measurements and the kitchen layout, we created a drawing (see photo 2) and assigned a number to each front. We then provided these measurements to TOSIZE.fr. We chose birch plywood, based on the recommendation of a staff member at TOSIZE.fr.
The fronts were lacquered 4 times. (See photo 3) To hang the fronts, we used the old fronts as templates for drilling holes. The fronts were hung and adjusted. Lastly, holes were drilled for the handles.
Project Dimensions
We used the old fronts as a reference for the measurements but increased the width by a few millimeters to create a sleeker look. (See photo 5) The height of the upper cabinets was extended to the ceiling. (See photo 4) The refrigerator door was combined with an upper cabinet into a single front. (See photo 6) All of this was done to achieve a clean and calm appearance.
