Oak timberboard Oak mix veneer: what is it?
Oak wood is known for being a hard type of wood. When treated properly, it lasts for years. Oak has a light brown color that can be darkened by staining, lacquering, or oiling. Oak’s popularity comes from its coarse grain patterns and mirrors, which give the wood a warm appearance. The wood used in our panels comes from Ukraine, where the best wood is selected for producing this panel material.
Oak timberboard Oak mix veneer, panel material with a natural veneer
Unlike melamine-coated panel material, the top layer of veneered panels is a layer of real wood. This gives the material a calm, natural look. Because it’s a natural product, there may be variations in color and structure between different panels. No two panels are the same. It is important to finish this panel with a lacquer or oil of your choice. This prevents discoloration and helps preserve the top layer.
Crown cut or Quartered veneer
Tree trunks are typically cut in two different ways: crown / plain or kwartiers. When wood is crown / plain, long slices are cut lengthwise, which clearly shows the grain of the material, optimizing the use of the wood. In a mix, these two techniques are used together when composing the veneer. This creates a natural look, and every panel is unique.
nerfrichting
In construction panels, the wood grain is visible. The wood grain pattern always runs lengthwise. When cutting the panel, we ensure that the length measurement also aligns with the grain direction. Be sure to pay attention when entering your dimensions so that the wood grain’s flames all run in the right direction!
Available thicknesses for Oak timberboard Oak mix veneer
Order veneered MDF custom-made in high quality and in various thicknesses. You can easily specify the desired thickness in the product configurator, ensuring that the panel material meets your requirements in terms of both size and thickness. The following thicknesses are available: 19 mm.
Working with solid oak construction panels
Always sand solid panel material first with a fine grain before working with it. Sanding oak highlights the details of the wood's grain, enhancing the robust and sturdy appearance of the panel. If you plan to saw or mill the material, keep in mind that it may splinter. Finally, we recommend using only stainless steel (RVS) for joining with metal to prevent discoloration on the wood.
Wood absorbs moisture faster than it releases it, so there is a chance of warping—wood works! After sanding the panel, it is important to properly treat the oak with a lacquer, stain, or oil.
Processing instructions
This panel is glued for interior use, meaning it is suitable for indoor applications only. Solid panels are prone to movement due to temperature changes and humidity. It is important to immediately treat solid panels with a lacquer, stain, or oil to prevent warping.

Oak wood can be used for various applications. Bring an industrial look into your home by ordering an oak table top and attaching a steel base to it. You can also upgrade your existing furniture by mounting a wooden top, such as for a desk, TV stand, or even a kitchen countertop!
