Ordering hardboard-softboard panels online

Order cut-to-size Hardboard-Softboard and other Wooden sheets and board material easily online. Hardboard-Softboard is easily cut to size and machined. This thin, medium and hard pressed material completes your project. The material is relatively porous in the lower layer and therefore not suitable for making furniture or other solid constructions.

Hardboard-Softboard: What is it?

Hardboard-Softboard is a thin fibre-rich board held together by a natural binder, so no additional glue is needed for pressing. The board is thus, to a certain extent, both heat and sound insulating. Hardboard-Softboard consists, as the name suggests, of two layers. The bottom layer is softboard and the top layer is hardboard.

Hardboard-Softboard is mainly a constructional board. This board material has a smooth top layer and a fibrous soft lower layer.

Available thicknesses Hardboard-Softboard

With us, you order standard high-quality Hardboard-Softboard. So you can be sure that the board material meets your requirements: both the format and the thickness of the material. The following thicknesses are available: 13 mm.

Processing of hardboard-softboard sheets

The board consists of wood fibres that are compressed under medium high pressure. This makes the material easy to process. When milling or sawing, this board material does not splinter. For mounting, you can choose to nail or screw this material. Are you going to paint this Hardboard-Softboard? Finish the edges with an edge sealer and then sand and paint neatly. Bear in mind that only one side can be finished. It is also important to degrease the board well.

Specific applications of hardboard-softboard

Hardboard-Softboard is an easy-to-process board material that can be used for various interior panelling applications. The boards are extremely suitable for sound insulation. Due to the combination of the advantages of both hardboard and softboard, the board also levels out small irregularities in the subfloor. If you go for the sound-insulating properties, make sure you glue the hardboard-softboard boards and do not attach them to the subfloor with nails or screws. Nails and screws act as a sound bridge when they come into contact with several materials.

Alternatives to standard board

Is Hardboard-Softboard not the right type of wood for your job? Looking for board material with a grain? Then go for poplar plywood. Do you want board material that can be used outdoors? Then take a look at phenolic plywood, MDF tricoya or multiplex okoumé
