Description of Cristina
I used six OSB-3 wooden plates to make the floor of this art installation that was on display at Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam during Art Rotterdam. The floor was part of a room (dimensions 3 x 3 x 3 m) completely covered with sheep's wool, where visitors could watch my film. To make the floor, I first glued the sheep's wool fibers to the wooden plates. Once the glue dried, I secured the fibers by stapling them with an electric staple gun. Finally, I placed the wool-covered wooden plates on the floor and secured them with gaffer tape and double-sided tape.
How I made this project
I first realized this project in my studio, with the help of an assistant. Here I attached the wool to the wooden plates and prepared them for transport. When the time came to build the installation, I took the wool-covered plates to the art fair location in a van. Here, with the help of another assistant, I created the wool-covered floor by laying the plates on the floor and securing them with double-sided tape.
